New York Cosmos History

The New York Cosmos was a team that established in 1970, by founders Amet and Nesuhi Ertegun and Steve Ross. The New York Cosmos joined the NASL (North American Soccer League) shortly after creating there team, and had there first game in 1971. The most known Cosmos player is most likely Pele who played with them from 1975-1977 a Brazilian soccer star. Sadly in 1984 the league dissolved, with the Cosmos along with it. This wasn't it for the boys in green, in 2009 the NASL was re founded. A few season later, after long anticipation the New York Cosmos took the pitch again. Joining in the second half the season they had there work cut out for them. They found a way to pull together as a new to win the second half of the league and come home with the cup. The boys in GREEN and WHITE are back!
